A little bit about me . . .
My name is Amy Sacha and I live in Stevensville, Michigan.  I have a BA in French and English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Choosing not to pursue teaching when I finished school, I married and now have three children:  Jonathan, James and Carolyn.

When Jonathan was in 4th grade, I offered to come into his class during April and teach several poetry lessons for National Poetry Month.  It was a great success and everybody enjoyed it -- including the teacher who had some time to herself!

I came in every week to Jonathan's 5th grade class and did poetry lessons with both 5th grades, back to back.  It was wonderful to see how the students' writing had improved.  I taught the same group in 6th grade.

Eventually I hope to be doing this at all levels, K-6.  The teachers have been excited about what I've been doing in the classroom, so I thought this would be a fun way to share my methods.

Email me with any comments or questions.  I'd love to hear what you're doing!
